The Armed Forces Museum, a prominent military history museum, is situated in Kumasi, Ghana. Established in 1953, it has become a significant site for those interested in the military history of the region.

Lake Bosumtwi

Lake Bosomtwe is the only true inland lake in the country located in the Ashanti region. It is an awesome place to relax and enjoy nature. The lake is surrounded by lush mountains and fed by small streams that tumble down the crater’s steep sides (500–1,400 feet [150–425 metres] above water level).

Kente cloth is a legendary fabric worn by African kings down the centuries. The cloth is still made in the traditional way in Adanwomse in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Kente is worn not only for its eye- catching designs but also for its symbolic significance. 

Adanmowase Ecotourism

danwomase is a town in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, approximately 27 km for Kumasi, the capital of the region and the second largest city in Ghana. The name means “under the Adanwo tree”. It is famous because of its long tradition of kente weaving.

Ntonso Adinkra Craftsmen

Ntonso is the homeland of adinkra cloth and the only place in Ghana where traditional adinkra is made locally from scratch. Ntonso is still Ghana’s biggest producer of adinkra, a cloth famed for its symbols and proverbial wisdom. The cloth was originally worn only for funerals in the Ashanti Region and produced mainly in black, brown and red. 

Kumasi Zoological Gardens

Nestled in the bustling city of Kumasi, the Ashanti Region’s capital, lies a sanctuary for wildlife, the Kumasi Zoo. Established in 1957 by the Asanteman Council, the zoo has been a conservation site for indigenous wild animals of Ghana and some from outside the country.

Manhyia Palace

The Museum is a unique creation in West Africa by the Asante Kingdom, to commemorate their leaders, and to communicate the riches of their history and culture to the world. It is a relatively small Museum but stuffed with history larger and older than its size making a visit to the place a worthy one.
